The CRTC and Industry Canada published final regulations related to Canada's Anti-spam legislation which came into effect on July 1, 2014 and we have until June 30, 2017 to ensure that we are compliant. As the Canadian Door Institute communicates with you, our members, mainly by e-mail, we encourage you to help us become fully compliant. Some of our members missed the wave of consent in 2014 and in accordance with the new law you must indicate whether you wish to continue to receive electronic correspondence from us. According to the government, previous information collected under the privacy legislation, as indicated above, is not sufficient. We have provided two options for you to choose from in your personal profile; you can agree to receive electronic correspondence, or indicate you do not wish to receive electronic correspondence. If you agree, you will continue to receive all correspondence from the CDI via e-mail; if you DO NOT agree, you will receive your membership renewal and Annual General Meeting package via Canada Post, and will not receive any other correspondence (e.g., notices of events/e-newsletters, etc.). We encourage you to carefully review your personal member profile during this renewal process and make your selection as soon as possible. When giving express consent please be sure to include the date consent is given via the radio button on the membership renewal page.
